Land Tenure Regularization Passed by Senate
The Senate passed the new State Owned Property Disposal Law two months after it was approved by Cabinet. The Senate report shows how the law aims to extend an older law passed back in 2017 to help legalize squatted or informally owned land, also known as adverse possession, "wad’ yad." [See our October & November Bulletins for more background], and now needs to be ratified by parliament before going into effect.
